Had to share this one. Last Saturday, I drove around So. Illinois on the hunt. After a couple missteps, I wound up in Pontoon Beach, at the flea market there.
I walked around the stalls and was looking thru a bin of newer Barbies when Steve? stopped and asked if I was a collector. He had a storage bin full of dolls and I bought a Tressy, 2 Susie Sad Eyes, a Midge, Grow Hair Francie, Baby Boo and some clothes from him for $45. I hope to see him again.
It was awesome. What a great spring afternoon.

Alaska and dolls
Dolls . I just remembered something. When I was about 5, I flew to Okinawa with a stopover in Alaska. All I remember about that is noticing the Eskimo dolls in the gift shop.
Coming up, my doll program / lecture at the Lutheran Church May 14.
I'm toward the end of Luisa's first batch. Haven't started Alison's yet. There are some great dolls coming so check my listings online.
No major find stories to report. Darn it.
Drove for hours to buy one doll I probably could've won for $50 online. They had this fabulous car there - a 60s Ford Fairlane. I took a few photos.
My Am Girl is getting a brow job, my ponytail is getting new hair and a bubble, new lips. Just saw the photos and they're wonferful. Laurie Everton is doing the repaints for me. She's fantastic.
Ditch has a bunch of my dolls as well. Most of them for restring. Need to call him. He's home.

No new doll sightings
It's been tough in the trenches lately. I think the collectivles market is drying up.
Hmmm
I wonder if we'll ever run out of Barbie?

Columbus II
Back from the trip. It was exhausting.
Summer time.
County Fair
My most memorable would be Du Quoin State Farm Willie Nelson concerts. Huge crowds. I was dating Clint who? He took me on a date years later to Sam Kinison at the Fox. Kinsison was dead just a few years later.
That seems so funny NOW that I'd date him. He was short with a pointed nose. Wore cowboy hat and boots. Lgt thinning shoulder length brown hair and huge brown puppy dog eyes. I think it was his southern accent that had me intrigued. Cute butt too.
Ya know. Thought of DeVrieze. Because I was reading a piece on Marilyn Monre and remembered that his 50th b'day is Tuesday.
But I AM so done with him and that and whatever.
This place could use a rub down and so could I.
I am so exhausted.
Bottom of the food chain.
I left my leftovers from two great Columbus restaurants at the hotel this morning, accidentally! I hope the cleaning staff knew enough to save and enjoy these two great items:
Carmelized banana, whipped cream and Bread Pupping from the Columbus Fish Market, newly purchaed by Ruths Chris by the way, and the Harbor Inn.
This week I tried the following:
Damon's
Haiku
North Star
Columbus fish Market
Harbor Inn
For ice cream
Jeni's and Denise's
And the winner is Jeni's - Only because of the wait staff, but then there's the wallet incident.
Uh oh.
Bad memory. happy ending....
Columbus - Short North
Melissa Ethridge is playing tonight in Columbus at its State Fair.
Sorry to miss it. Weather is gorgeous in Columbus today. See, I woke up there before jeting off to St. Louis. Caught up on all the celeb gossip today, from 2003! Old mag.
Geoff, good job.
It was fun. I think I loosened up.
By Friday I was a gonner, thou.
Spageddies make great back scratchers.
I'm hungry in more ways than one.
Journals??? Hmmm. Thoughtful.
Why is it that we haven't met the men or women who first painted Barbie, ie, the Japanese artists who painted her eyes, lips and brows?
Is it because it was actually so simple that anyone could've done it?
OR
another reason?
